Snapmaker U1 3D Printer 4-Toolheads Multi-Color Multi-Material

Order before 12.00PM
Snapmaker U1 is a high-speed CoreXY 3D printer with a four-toolhead SnapSwap™ tool-changing system designed for fast multicolor and multi-material printing with significantly less filament waste. BDTronics offers Snapmaker U1 for users looking for an advanced toolchanger 3D printer with up to 500mm/s printing speed, 20,000mm/s² acceleration, 270 × 270 × 270mm build volume, automatic calibration and intelligent filament management.
Zero purge, Zero Waste of Filaments with 4-Toolheads Multi-material System

Snapmaker U1 uses four independent preheated toolheads, allowing direct toolhead changes in approximately 5 seconds without repeatedly unloading and reloading filament through a shared nozzle. This approach can dramatically reduce purge waste during color changes while allowing different materials to remain loaded and ready for printing.
With automatic XYZ toolhead offset calibration, input shaping, pressure advance, automatic mesh bed leveling, AI-assisted camera monitoring, automatic filament loading and Backup Mode, Snapmaker U1 is designed to combine high-speed printing with simplified operation. The optional Top Cover can further improve thermal stability for high-temperature engineering materials.

SnapSwap™ Four-Toolhead System:
-
Four separate toolheads allow different colors or materials to remain loaded simultaneously.
-
Each toolhead maintains its own filament path and nozzle.
-
U1 changes the complete toolhead instead of repeatedly purging a shared nozzle.
-
Direct toolhead swapping takes approximately 5 seconds under specified conditions.
-
Preheated toolheads help reduce waiting time during material changes.
-
Steel-ball kinematic couplings guide toolheads into a repeatable position.
-
A mechanical locking mechanism secures each toolhead after installation.
-
The toolchanger design reduces the need for extensive purge towers associated with conventional shared-nozzle multicolor systems.
-
Manufacturer testing reports more than 1,000,000 continuous swaps without mechanical failure.
-
Four toolheads provide up to four simultaneously loaded colors or materials.
Reduced Multicolor Filament Waste:
-
Conventional shared-nozzle multicolor systems can produce substantial purge waste during color changes.
-
Snapmaker U1 changes complete toolheads to reduce repeated nozzle purging.
-
Manufacturer claims up to 85% reduction in waste under specified conditions.
-
Reduced purge requirements can make frequent color changes more practical.
-
Lower material waste can be particularly beneficial for large multicolor models and batch production.
-
Some filament waste is still produced during nozzle clearing, wiping and flow-rate calibration.
Multi-Color Printing:
-
Keep up to four different colors loaded simultaneously.
-
Assign individual colors to separate toolheads.
-
The printer automatically selects the required toolhead during compatible multicolor printing.
-
Suitable for signs, logos, toys, models, decorative parts and prototypes.
-
Full Spectrum functionality in Snapmaker Orca provides additional color-mixing possibilities from four filament colors.
-
Color output depends on the selected filament combination and slicing workflow.
Multi-Material Printing:
Snapmaker U1 can combine different materials within compatible printing workflows, providing possibilities such as:
-
PETG + TPU
-
PLA + PVA
-
Different TPU colors
-
Different TPU shore hardness levels
-
Rigid + flexible material combinations
-
Model material + water-soluble support material
-
ASA + PAHT-CF with the appropriate enclosed configuration
Each material can remain loaded in its dedicated toolhead, reducing cross-contamination compared with repeatedly feeding different materials through one shared nozzle.
Rigid and Flexible Material Printing:
-
Use rigid and flexible materials within supported multi-material workflows.
-
PETG and TPU can be combined for parts requiring both structural rigidity and flexibility.
-
Different TPU colors can be loaded into separate toolheads.
-
TPU materials with different shore hardness levels can be combined for specialized designs.
-
Material compatibility should be checked before combining materials in a single print.
Water-Soluble Support Printing:
-
Dedicated toolheads can be used for support materials such as PVA.
-
PLA can be printed through one toolhead while PVA is used for compatible support structures through another.
-
Water-soluble support can simplify removal from complex geometries.
-
Suitable for models with internal cavities, overhangs and difficult-to-reach support structures.
-
PVA should be stored and handled carefully because it is moisture-sensitive.
High-Temperature Engineering Materials:
-
The optional Top Cover provides additional thermal stability around the printing area.
-
Suitable for compatible high-temperature engineering filament workflows.
-
Example material combinations include ASA and PAHT-CF.
-
Suitable material selection depends on nozzle temperature, bed temperature, chamber temperature and filament requirements.
-
Always follow the filament manufacturer's recommended printing conditions.
500mm/s High-Speed Printing:
-
Maximum print speed: up to 500mm/s.
-
Maximum acceleration: up to 20,000mm/s².
-
CoreXY motion system enables rapid toolhead movement.
-
High acceleration helps reduce time spent on directional changes and short movements.
-
Actual printing speed depends on material, nozzle, layer height, extrusion flow, model geometry and slicer settings.
-
Maximum speed is not necessarily appropriate for every filament or model.
-
Engineering and flexible materials may require lower speeds for optimum print quality.
Precision Toolhead Calibration:
-
U1 automatically calibrates XYZ offsets between its four toolheads.
-
Relative toolhead positioning can be maintained within 0.04mm according to manufacturer specifications.
-
Automatic calibration helps maintain alignment when changing colors or materials.
-
Reduces the need for repeated manual toolhead offset adjustments.
-
Accurate alignment is especially important for multicolor models and multi-material interfaces.
Input Shaping:
-
U1 uses data from a precision accelerometer for input-shaping compensation.
-
Resonance compensation helps reduce ringing and ghosting during rapid movement.
-
Helps maintain cleaner walls and sharper edges at high printing speeds.
-
Automatic motion compensation reduces the need for extensive manual tuning.
Pressure Advance:
-
Pressure Advance compensates for extrusion pressure changes during acceleration and deceleration.
-
Helps reduce blobs and inconsistent extrusion around corners.
-
Improves line consistency during rapid directional changes.
-
Helps maintain cleaner details at high printing speeds.
Automatic Mesh Bed Leveling:
-
U1 automatically maps the build surface.
-
Mesh compensation accounts for small variations in bed height.
-
Maintains a more consistent nozzle-to-bed distance.
-
Helps produce a reliable and even first layer.
-
Reduces manual bed-leveling adjustments.
Automatic Filament Management:
-
Four filament spools can remain loaded and ready.
-
Automatic loading reduces manual filament feeding.
-
Hang the filament and allow the automatic loading system to feed it.
-
Backup Mode can automatically switch to a matching spool when one spool runs out.
-
RFID recognition can identify supported Snapmaker filament information.
-
Dedicated waste collector collects small amounts of material generated during printer maintenance and calibration.
Backup Mode:
-
Backup Mode allows a matching filament spool to be used when the active spool runs out.
-
Useful for long-duration prints.
-
Helps reduce interruptions caused by filament depletion.
-
Particularly useful for large models and unattended printing.
-
Backup functionality depends on compatible filament configuration.
RFID Filament Recognition:
-
U1 supports RFID recognition for supported Snapmaker official filaments.
-
RFID can identify information such as filament type and color.
-
Reduces manual material entry for compatible RFID-tagged filament.
-
RFID functionality depends on compatible filament and system configuration.
