How It Works

The SCD41 uses photoacoustic sensing technology to measure CO₂ concentration. When an infrared emitter pulses inside the sensor's measurement chamber, CO₂ molecules absorb infrared energy and generate pressure waves. An internal microphone detects these acoustic signals, allowing the sensor to calculate CO₂ concentration.

Integrated temperature and humidity sensing provides additional environmental measurements and supports signal compensation. This combination makes the module useful for projects that require continuous environmental data collection using a compact sensor.
